Hygienic Diaphragm Pressure gauge
Our hygieniciaphragm pressure gauges are engineered in Britain for pharmaceutical, food processing, and dairy applications. Each gauge features a flush welded diaphragm that eliminates dead space where bacteria could collect. We helium leak test every unit to verify diaphragm integrity before dispatch.
Available with Tri-clamp, Varivent®, DIN, SMS, RJT, and IDF connections to match your existing pipework.

Description
British Manufactured for CIP and SIP Processes
PCI manufactures hygienic pressure gauges at our facility in Southport, England. We design each gauge to withstand Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Sterilise-in-Place (SIP) cleaning cycles without degradation.
The flush welded diaphragm sits completely free of dead space. This prevents product residue from becoming trapped in crevices during processing. A backup convolution protects the diaphragm against rupture from pressure spikes or accidental overpressure events.
For applications requiring steam sterilisation, we offer an autoclave version rated for ambient temperatures up to 134°C.
Sanitary Connection Options
We supply sanitary pressure gauges with all common hygienic process connections:
- Tri-clamp (most popular for pharmaceutical and dairy)
- Varivent® (for aseptic and sterile applications)
- DIN 11851 (German dairy standard)
- SMS 1145 (Swedish sanitary standard)
- RJT BS 4825 (British hygienic union)
- IDF BS 4825 (International Dairy Federation)
Not sure which connection suits your application? Our technical team can advise based on your existing pipework and process requirements.
Designed for Temperature Stability
High or fluctuating process temperatures cause measurement drift in standard pressure gauges. Our hygienic pressure gauges use a diaphragm seal design that isolates the gauge mechanism from the process media.
This prevents hot liquids or steam from affecting the bourdon tube directly. The result: accurate, stable readings even during pasteurisation, CIP wash cycles, or steam sterilisation.
Quality Assurance
Every hygienic pressure gauge we manufacture undergoes helium leak testing. This verifies the integrity of the welded diaphragm seal before the gauge leaves our facility.
We can supply material certificates (3.1) and calibration certificates traceable to national standards on request.
